Air Defence Ground Environment Simulator
(ADGESIM) is used for training air defence operators in how to use the Australian Air Defence System (AADS)
by employing simulation and stimulation of the core operational infrastructure.
ADGESIM uses advanced distributed simulation and Orthographic Network Input/Output Nodes
(ONIONS) to selectively stimulate core operational systems. It integrates real assets with
Human-in-the-Loop simulators and Computer Generated Entities in a shared synthetic environment.
SMS Defence Solutions has been providing ongoing support to development of ADGESIM for a number of years.
Specifically, ADGESIM uses SMS Defence Solutions's OTHR Simulator and
Air Traffic System Simulator.
Most recently, SMS Defence Solutions modified its Air Traffic System Simulator
to emulate the next-generation TAAATS output interface, based on the
ASTERIX format.
