SMS Defence Solutions designed, developed and fielded a system to integrate TAAATS
air traffic data into the Australian Air Defence System (AADS).
Besides the computer and network infrastructure, this required the development and
integration of a component to convert the TAAATS data from Eurocat-MIL format to Link-16
(TADIL-J) format, and integrate with the Solipsys MSCT®
software used at the Eastern Region Operations Centre (EASTROC).

The system was officially commissioned in 1999 and was used to provide a live air
traffic feed to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) air defence community for a number of years.
This project involved project management and engineering coordination across a number
of agencies including Air Services Australia, the Australian Defence Force and Optus
(the communications provider).
